Class acts A generation of (mostly) white guys BY BETSY QM TONG ne Boston Latin School graduate likes 0 to boy and face, joke is the saying, now about cultural an his "The Asian diversity school's average girl." of That Latin the changing Boston change School area today are barely reflected in this special yearbook edition of the Globe Magazine. Even as recently as a few decades ago, local graduates were overwhelmingly white. Many of those pictured here graduated in an era before the civil rights movement, the women's movement, and the Vietnam War shook the status quo. Since then, immigration reforms have also enabled large numbers of people from non-European nations to enter the country, profoundly altering the city's makeup. Twenty years from now, the list of prominent graduates will probably feature more names like Yuri, Mei, and Latifa than Thomas, William, or John.
